Flora Balance is a symbiotic (a combination of a probiotic with a prebiotic) whose active ingredients support proper gastrointestinal function and promote recovery of intestinal microflora in animals.
Lactobacillus acidophilus LA02 – through the production of lactic acid, increases acidity in the intestine, thus inhibiting the development of pathogens, i.e. Salmonella, Escherichia coli and Clostridium perfringens. Actively involved in the synthesis of the B group vitamins, especially niacin, folic acid and vitamin B6. The specificity of Lactobacillus acidophilus LA02 consists in its ability to hydrolyse urea, which, on the one hand, reduces its endogenous production, while on the other, helps decrease its levels in the blood during chronic renal failure.
Lactobacillus rhamnosus LR06 – through the production of lactic acid, increases the acidity in the intestine, thereby inhibiting the development of pathogens. Its capacity to inhibit gastrointestinal colonization by Clostridium perfringens in dogs reaches 80%. Metabolites produced by Lactobacillus rhamnosus LR06 stimulate both local and general immunity within the body. Furthermore, enhancing dietary intake through the inclusion of this strain resulted in higher insulin sensitivity and more effective weight loss. L. rhamnosus has also been demonstrated to increase the concentration of GABA – a neurotransmitter that alleviates moodiness and reduces overall levels of anxiety.
Bifidobacterium animalis lactis BS01 – involved in the synthesis of vitamin B12 and lactic acid, enhances peristalsis of the digestive tract and increases the moisture level in the faeces, thus preventing constipation. Recommended as a dietary ingredient in inflammatory conditions and intestinal ulcers (e.g. ulcerative colitis).
Inulin – a prebiotic, soluble dietary fibre, and boosts a stimulating effect on the growth of beneficial intestinal micro flora, which stimulates the development of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium. Acid metabolites of beneficial microflora prevent the growth of potentially pathogenic bacteria. Recommended as a component of diet in gastrointestinal and pancreatic diseases.
 
Recommended daily dose: To be given according to the body weight of the animal:
Small animals up to 10 kg b.w. – ½ capsule
For every 20 kg b.w. – 1 capsule
 
Product is in the form of open-able capsules.
It is recommended to mix with kibble, wet feed or water. Recommended daily dose can be divided into a couple of smaller portions during the day
